The Association's History
This association was founded in 1978 as the Mid Florida Utility Contractors Association, one of four National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) affiliated chapters in the state of Florida at that time.  The chapter's mission was to promote the underground utility industry, increase the awareness of constantly changing rules and regulations and to promote safety in the workplace.

In 1990, the Mid Florida Utility Contractors Association merged with the Central Florida Road Builders Association.  The name of the association was then changed to Mid Florida Utilities & Transportation Contractors Association.  Our goal is to make this association a unified voice for heavy construction contractors.  They felt that together we can and will make a difference in your day-to-day business.

Membership is composed of contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and affiliate members all working together to unite the utility and road building construction industry.

Through Mid Florida Utilities & Transportation Contractors Association, Underground Utility Contractors of Florida (UUCF) and National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA), we will keep you informed on legislation that affects the underground utility and road building industry.  We provide membership services that will help our members reduce costs and improve their business knowledge.
